OCR, in other words text recognition, is a technology that enables the conversion of various documents, such as scanned paper documents, PDF files or digital images, into editable and browsable digital files. Written documents are digitized as part of an electronic process. This achieves a high level of automation and even improves further processing. Metadata (categorization) can be linked to the digitized document, which is necessary for document allocation and further processing. Based on contextualization, further processes can be triggered.
