Chatbots are software-based communication solutions that allow a text-based dialogue even if the sender and receiver aren’t human. Chatbots react specifically to questions asked in a chat window, going above the standard answers and being able to give personalized responses to complex questions. Based on the idea of search engines, Chatbots browse through databases and use the found information in a targeted manner in the dialogue with the sender. In companies chatbots can be a cost-efficient possibility to cover the communication with customers. Chatbots are also able to answer internal company questions. Chatbots are programmed in a way that they can autonomously learn information through a steady learning process. Pre-programmed questions build the base, which narrow the potential answers during the chat-process. This process is also called deep learning.
