As a result of growing demands towards products as well as the increasing competitive pressure product simulation is becoming increasingly important. Using special software, products are theoretically simulated in order to solve possible problems, e.g. environmental influences. Further simulation steps lead to the product taking on more and more shape, until finally a prototype is simulated. This prototype is then physically created and tested. Especially for products with a high number of technical components the simulation enables to offer products in a first version. This first version matches the desire of the customer, which lowers the rate of returned goods and warranty costs. Simultaneously the customer satisfaction is enhanced whereby long-term customer relations are established.
